Exercises / best at home equiptment to own?

I currently own a treadmill, one of those machines where you sit and pull the bar toward you while pushing out with your feet (never use this machine), and I have a couple pairs of small dumbells, around 1-3lbs I think.

I would really like some good exercise items to have on hand at home. Preferably small things that can be easily stored...dont have much room for another big machine.

Ive heard a lot about kettlebells on here? Ive never used them but is this something good to own?

When im doing at home workouts I seem to like to work on my abs or my arms the most...but I will take any suggestions for some good items to own.

Diet and nutrition / too much tuna fish...dangerous?

So Ive been eating tuna fish for lunch every day for about a week...and my mom mentioned to me this morning not to eat too much of it because her friend got sick from too mucg mercury in tuna fish. Is there truth to this? If so how much can I eat it? Ive found that having favorite dishes Have made it easier for me not to stray from the paleo diet if I make them often. ..and this has become a favorite and easy lunch for me. I guess i can switch it up with some chicken instead. But id really like to know if this is dangerous anyway?

Finally lost that last pesky lb so now down 15lbs!
Ive set some small goals for myself with rewards. So 15lbs lost means I get to go buy myself a new dress for valentines day :)
Thinking Im gonna need some new clothes all around soon!

Thanks! I did end up finding some threads after posting this. I think I will try it in a month or so. There are no contracts so I can just pay for a month and try it out so I think thats what ill do. I like the fact that it seems like an intense workout..and I like that its group classes because motivation is a big thing for me and I think working with other people will really help me

Thanks :) I hate pushups haha they hurt my back (because im probably doing them incorrectly) but I do like tricep dips. Didnt even think about those!
Will still try out the pull up bar though because I still have some work on my biceps as well :)

My bf is letting me borrow his pull up bar..one of those ones that mount up on doorframes.

I was wondering if there was a position or something that will work my triceps really well? Or is it mainly going to work my biceps?

Does anyone here do crossfit?

My cousin in NY does it and he loves it and swears by it! And he says crossfit and paleo really go hand in hand.

Just curious if anyone here does it and what their experiences with it are?

I have my gym membership until april-ish...so I probably wont start until atleast late march because I want to actually get my moneys worth from this gym first.
But im very interested

Thanks guys! Im sooo proud of myself!
I still have a ways to go...but my stomach already feels tighter..my legs are toning up..and one thing I noticed yesterday was my endurance level has just about tripled! Which is a huge thing for me. I cant belueve I didnt do this sooner. I am never going back!

So I figured id post my progress here too!
Ive been following the paleo diet since 1/2/2014. I started out at 156lbs which was really high for me. I had been in the 140s for years and I just lost control and that was why I made the change! And so far ive lost 14lbs! And since 1/15 ive lost 7.25" all around. REALLY wish I had taken a pic at the beginning and took my measurements.  There was a huuuuge difference those first two weeks. 
But heres a pic....the left side is me on 1/13..I believe I had already lost 5lbs or so...and the right side is me yesterday  afternoon at 142lbs

Wanted to share a new progess pic.  Ive now officially lost 14lbs! Just 1 lb away from my second short term goal of losing another 5lbs by my birthday...and only 7lbs away from my total goal!
Obviously my weight loss has started slowing down...but I think it has to do with muscle gain. I feel so many differences in my body, and im super ecstatic!
The first pic was taken jan 13th when I had already lost 5or6lbs...and the second pic is this afternoon :)

I really wanted to make some fruit and nut bars to have on hand for something quick to grab for breakfast if im running late...or before a workout.
I found a recipe that called for 1cup almonds, 10 pitted dates, and 1/4 cup raisins.  And basically you just blend it together in a food processor....form a large bar...freeze it fpe an hour and then cut it up.

Well I didnt have or want raisins so I used dried apricots instead...and I dont have a large food processor so I did it in sections.  Idk if it was one of those two things that caused it to fail or if I needed an extra ingredient...but they were so crumbly rhat I coulsnt keep them together.  So instead I made them into baggies of a sort of "granola". They taste awesome. .I just kinda wish they were in bar form.

Does anyone have any tips or tricks for me? Or a similar recipe??

Welcome! Im 3 weeks in to the paleo diet and I know it can be hard! Ive somehow managed to not eat any pizza the last 3 weeks. Im shocked!
One thing you can do that will help is to just get rid of everything bad in the house!
