I'm not talking about doing hectiq situps like in a marathon, I'm going at my own pace but still getting a good ab sesh done, I probably do 30 situps, break for a couple of mins and repeat until I can't do anymore so maybe its more close to half an hour, but I want to work my way up to an hour.

I didn't realize recovering from surgery was using up energy, I have been sleeping and on pain meds wouldn't that be enough?

So I have started to do my abdominals now after a week of being asleep,

I find the best way to do situps now is not at the gym or any sort of machine (always sends pains through my back anyway), but simply being at home placing a towel on the floor, put on the television throw on a movie or watch a show and just spend like 30mins to a hour doing situps and break, its way better.

When I do situps at the gym I find I'm always rushing and never get the proper work done, and I always tend to want to sleep on the gym mats when resting, probably because they play lame music.

I best be eating soups, vegetables and fruit, as I have been just eating a lot of food lately, my body still thinks I'm running up mountains and benching at the gym.

I do not even want to be 100 percent honest right now, my diet has been way off track since the last month prior to my surgery, I lost a lot of motivation as I mentioned previously in my workout journal topic.

I'm going to start cooking again as soon as I'm off the painkillers and able to move around without wanting to fall asleep all the time. It may sound stupid but I'm going to throw away all the fish and steak I haven't eaten in the last month. When I start up stuff again I always get new gear, maybe a new fry pan is in the works too.

Well atleast since I'm fairly familiar with the majority of what to eat and not eat in paleo it won't be as hard to get back into that lifestyle as if I were starting from scratch. Although the learning curve is probably more funner trying new things etc.

One thing I have noticed though and hope for an explanation or a further inquiry, is since I have been eating the occasional bread since I've been slack I have actually lost wieght. Because when I was on paleo I never ate bread but I was cooking meals 3 times a day and having nuts and fruit between meals, and I got really lazy its effort doing that every single day. Recently when I'm hungry I just put in baked beans in the microwave and toast some bread (shocking I know), but it is really wierd....

I still haven't had greasy foods in about a year or more and the only dairy I have had is 3 bagels in the last month with cream cheese (my poison), but cereal and a glass of milk its been probably 8 months. So I can't say I have totally strayed away from the paleo but definitly modified my eating so much it would not be considered as one presently.

Been awhile since I've lurked on here....

Update::
I have been slack for the last couple of weeks due to me having surgery a few days ago, I think I gave up on fitness right before the operation because I knew I was going to be inactive for so long so my motivation to reach peak was pointless. I had a sinus/nasal minor procedure done - was put under sedation and on opiod pain killers for about a week so it was sort of the real deal, and I can't do any excercise for about a month because it will raise blood pressure and thus cause hemotoma/wounds re opening.

I can ride on a stationary bike in my 2nd week and maybe do a few situps then too, but the running and wieght lifting has to wait for a good month unfortunately especially any motions where I'm standing and doing strenous activity. I hate this crap sitting at home unable to do too much except sleep and eat, I feel like a fat piece of ****.

Anyway I think as soon as I can do my abs I'm going to hit it hard I have 2 months to get back into shape before law school starts again 2nd year, wish me luck.

I have been eating non paleo for about a couple of weeks now due to the fact I'm doing cardio a lot more and my stomach isn't patient enough to cook for 30 mins before I can consume it.

I must get back into it regardless my skin is starting to suffer I'm having major issues with my chin have pimples now, the other day one was so massive I almost wanted to wear a balaclava outside (it was effing putrid). Now maybe I'm over exaggerating but a couple of weeks ago I could of put on a bit of makeup and go in a modeling shoot, my face was so clear (sigh), now the only thing that will cover it is a box over my head. lol

Anyway thought I would like to inform the brotherhood of my short comings and the punishments which transpired as a result, from this experience I believe it is quite prudent to never stray away from this diet, as I'm living proof of what happens, sure running a lot and sweating could be a contributing factor but I do believe diet is the other.

However, in saying that, I have not been eating mcdonalds and candy or any other greasy foods, but I have been eating a lot of bread and the occasional sugar but one thing I haven't touched is dairy, it's just the bread and cookies I need to give up FOR GOOD.

AND also I did not mean diet as in a short handed thing, paleo is a way of life - hope this helps

Update: Have been doing a lot more cardio and getting into a bit more HIIT with boxing the bag at home, though my elbows are pinker then fairy floss. Now that I have been incorporating a lot more cardio I have been eating a lot more though, way more then when I was solely lifting weights. O

ne thing I am annoyed about though, is not only am I fatigued mostly, but I have sweat pimples on my chin, and just as I'm looking for new employment as well, FML!

I'm cool with the hair growing back lighter and not as much, but not at all? Could that be detrimental to ones health? Not growing hairs sounds like a major issue for the body, and I think I would wax everywhere except my forearm hair, because forearm hair is really essential for the sun, and plus I have blonde hair on my forearms so it doesn't seem necessary.

Yea like I said, keyword: ONCE I have a awesome physique I will go hairless, I could start now but I'd just look like everyone else, skinny dude thinking hes all that, and so many big people wear tank tops and have no hair on the legs or whatever, I think to myself what's the point? Trying to show off your love handles or chubby calves lol.

No way I would get a buzz cut, my wavey curly hair is my charm.

And I like my stubble its awesome, don't know why adults complain about getting old I wish I was 30 to be honest.

Well what when I lay off sugar for a month from history, I usually for a week eat something sweet and it's hard to break into that cycle again, I have been doing this probably for the last 2 years.

What usually happens is I let my guard down by seeing others eating junkfood, and I always seem to think "one won't hurt" but it does, I have the mind where I must be 100 percent purity or I lose it - with junk.

Fortunately however, I only have a sweet tooth, I absolutely hate fish and chips, mcdonalds, hungry jacks - all greasy foods basically I have no interest for.

So as soon as I have my sugar under control I'm golden!

Maybe my hormones are fluctuating too much, you know how it is when you are a teenager, moods change more then the wind.

I used to do HIIT and a little bit of that parkour stuff, like jumping fences and climbing stuff and hurdling over metre fences. But now I do more x country running, like up my local mountain up the track I sprint for a bit, then walk, sprint, walk, sprint, walk. That is basically it. It's roughly an hour and a bit to get up and back to my house. Sometimes when I'm jogging I jump really high in the air, it may look stupid but it makes you work harder.

Hey do you know much about waxing or hair removal cream, I was thinking once I get the proper physique I want to be hairless all over except for the facial and head hair of course because heaps of people have shaved legs and their muscles show a great deal more then me with hairy legs, and I'm probs way fitter then them, and shave everywhere else for obvious reasons heh.

How itchy is it when it grows back? Will I need to have talcum powder in my pocket at all times. This sort of relates to hygiene - is relevant.

I have no treats to speak of except for the occasional biscuit or dabble of white choc cookies, I limit myself to about 2 a week (being honest), they are very addictive, I used to eat about 6 or 8 a week and yet I was way skinnier, I'm starting up cardio again though so maybe in a months time I can up the cookie to 3 times a week if I'm a good boy and train efficiently while eating good foods.

Can you list a few foods that would be paleo treats? Because I have non except for an apple, or banana, or celery wrapped around a turkey breast or cucumber. Although these urges may have to do with stress because I am just inundated with exams at the moment and I am not caring as much about my diet as I did a week ago, I have 500 pages of some massively long sociology paper to memorize before an exam next monday, fck!!! lol

You know what pisses me off the most, my father who is suffering heart disease, eats like a pig and does not give a shit about his diet, at all. Never cooks, and never wants to learn how to cook, and is very lazy.

What annoys me the most, is when I have a cabinet full of good foods he will buy temptation foods, and sometimes will power is simply not enough, if I was by myself I'm sure I would be paleo 100 percent, and I'm not making excuses but I find it sometimes hard and I then eat a biscuit or a chocolate bar every now and then (ocassionally), one time I just through 2 large packets of biscuits down the sink in rage, told my father to hide them and so he did but now, there just sitting in his room on a desk, and temptation is at it again.

Shy of injecting myself with tranquilizers, how do I stop this urge? Any feedback would be great.

WLDFG, has done it again. As usual the advice, unmeasurable and tantamount to nothing, another set of awesome tips given.

I am now doing all those exercises above mentioned except with the 5x5 rule, and I feel a lot more energy, way better mood also- and less of a sex drive, which makes no sense, and I'm not snorting half of bolivia either.

But yea my energy meter is insane, I've started running again (where did the energy come from)?? I no longer workout until I collapse, and I've been eating a lot more vegetables then fruit, and cutting off steak for a little while, still eating chicken and fish.

Although I did have a chocolate bar tonight  :-X which I'm now p***ed off about, looks like more running tomorrow!

In regard to running, is it cool to run 3 times a week, because I heard everyday can be detrimental to ones joints and muscles? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
