i'm very serious. I was getting so encouraged by the way I was looking. Im still nearly a stone and half lighter than when I started.

I started this time last year. Apart from Christmas lunch this Wednesday, there is no reason I cannot control what I am eating.

Does anyone know why we sabotage ourselves? Serious question.

It wasn't my intention, just busy at church planning an event, they bought chinese food, I ate it... it snowballed from there, the event was an Italian dinner with tons of desserts, I ate it all... I figured if I was gonna mess up, I may as well go all out. I don't know why we sabotage ourselves, but we seem to do it in lots of areas, not just food. All the best Renta, get back up, wipe yourself off and keep moving forward, it's really all you can do.

First thing is to be honest with yourself.  Update that ticker!

That will also help you see your progress again now that you're back on the wagon.

Well, alcohol, and possibly chocolate, have addictive effects.

Aside from that, though, I think there's a temptation when things are going well to forget how things were before, and assume things will continue to go well even if we indulge a bit.

I think the solution is to change the things we consider indulgences.  For example, roast beef is my "comfort food" now.  Plus, I reread my cheat thread now and then to remind myself of the bad things that happen when I cheat.

Has anyone had the experience of pigging completely out on paleo foods? I went to a party last night and they had lots of clean food, but I ate like a maniac...is that tantamount to falling off the wagon because the portions consumed were so huge?

It was GREAT!  ;D

Thanks for the words. Ticker updated!! You are right.
I was pretty good at Christmas lunch. No wine, just water, salmon starter with leaves,
venison, red cabbage for main course.

fruit salad for pudding but I did have some cream.

I've been on the road (i.e.: hotels, restaurants, etc.) for the past couple of months. Sticking to paleo foods at restaurants or with room service means you substitute the fillers (potatoes/rice) with veggies and get lower cal dishes. I've been ordering double or triple portions, such as:

280g fillet with 200g sirloin both with salad sides.
hamburger, no bread, substitute the chips with salad and then add 2 more patties.
Starter (eg: parma Ham), salad with seafood, fish with veggies and fruit salad.
Portion of lamb chops with a steak, one with steamed veggies the other with salad.

I'm glad I'm expensing this stuff, otherwise I'd be quite upset at the amount of food I have to order just to eat adequate cals.

Any idiot can get on a treadmill and watch TV and then take great pride in the fact they've exercised.
