This time my BP came in at 130/90, and that was after about a half dozen cups of non-Paleo black coffee (long story, won't get into it here). Anyway, considering I am completely off all my BP meds, 130/90 is remarkable for me. Prior to Paleo, I could not get it below 200/120 unmedicated. Things seem to be moving along on the right trajectory for once in my life.

Nice.  Definitely the right direction!

Just a quick update. Today is my one-year anniversary on Paleo.

For those who might have followed this thread...

http://cavemanforum.com/miscellaneous/strategy-to-reduce-blood-pressure-quickly/

I somehow got the job and I'm now in Alaska working. I drove here from the Los Angeles area (5-1/2 days and almost 4,000 miles, yes, on the Alaska Highway in Winter) and it was almost impossible to stay strict during the journey. I'm in a hotel now for a couple weeks, which is also a challenge, but I'm working through it. I'm still losing weight, almost 50 lbs. total now since I started this WOE. Bought some new jeans last night. They are the size I wore when I was 25 years old, some 22 years ago! That would be 6-inches off my waist from a year ago. All of this is:

-Without additional exercise
-Without counting calories
-Without starving myself or controlling portions

I will never go back to SAD.

Thanks again to all who have helped me along the way here. Cheers!

Jay

Congratulations on the job!  Here's hoping you find good sources for paleo food where you are.

Good work JJ! Must be a good job for you to move so far north - I live on about the same latitude as LA....  8)

Will you have access to traditional native food choices?
