I posted elsewhere what I think happened a few months ago: thermodynamics kicked in as the easy fat was burned off. I've a lot of loose skin now and that tissue works itself off at a different maximum rate. I needed to get a lot stricter about my diet -- I'd been eating heaps of dairy -- and I've begin to experiment with intermittent fasting.

I've also restarted running in August so doubtless I've been picking up a lot of lean mass so the pounds don't tell everything.

Still, it may take a year or so to get to my general target of a MBI of 21.7 which is in the middle of the 'good' zone. I'm not planning for any weight target but I think the low 140s is were it'll be.

I actually had two apples this week as I'm trying to broaden my diet a touch as I'd banned all fruit. They were tasty and I'lll start including the odd bit of fruit now as I figure since I'm basically at maximum weight loss, and that's kind of at its maximum, I might as well accept it and have a slightly broader diet.

???
Lean mass from running?
Not likely.
Consuming lean mass from running.
Highly likely

Think I have a bit of room to go before I need to worry about consuming lean mass.

Actually that's not how it works.

Given that running and press-ups are the only exercises I'm doing right now,  and that these articles are more about edge of existing performance cases rather than for someone in my low level of physical condition, I think I've got a long way to go before I reach the limits described.

Besides, there's a snarky gym-rat tone to several of these. While I agree that balance is needed, you're mistaking me for someone who's reached the point of diminishing returns.

The guy at Lean Saloon has an appealing take on balance in exercise. Be overall active and use your whole body. Machines are great for isolating muscles or attacking a specific muscle at a given angle, but for overall health and strength, focus on the whole body.
