Ryan's Warrior Diet progress
« on: September 05, 2011, 06:12:50 AM »
Today I start the warrior diet. I have tried it before with great success, but usually i wash out after a few days, i figure if i keep track of it here daily/weekly i will hold myself more accountable.

The basics of the diet
-raw food fast-eat any vegtables or fruits for 18 hours of the day (including while your sleeping)
-at night feast on a large meal of any size to satisfy the overeating monster inside of us
-workout on an empty stomach

Why i think this works...
-fasting truly does cut down on fat
-i enjoy the clarity of mind while fasting
-working out on an empty stomach seems more natural
-feasting is one of my favorite parts about eating, plus i hate eating a meal during the day, i feel lethargic afterwards unless i eat a small meal, which is difficult for me

Today is my First day
-green tea for breakfast...
-not hungry at all
-plan on doing a run and a dog walking before going into work (physical labor) also on an empty stomach

I did end up eating 7 burgers... i ate a REALLY REALLY sweet apple, sent my blood sugar soaring i needed food, or i was going to crash.

I know now not eat super sweet fruits, or at least make them organic.

I had about 3 raw carrots... they were good for getting me full, without any lethargy.

I think carrots and spinach will be my main points.

I feel slightly unsuccessful due to eating before the night feast...

Tomorrow I plan on eating only carrots spinach, and some lemon juice until the meal at night.

I'll be sure to keep the updates and pictures coming :)

Just printed out both of the programs 7 weeks to 50 pullups and 6 weeks to 100 pusuhs

After I get both of these accomplished i'll be easily able to do situps, then i'll work on my running and swimming.

It's odd how simple things can change my mind. I ate the last of my grains.
I still have some potatoes, I just don't want to eat them though...

I can no longer eat during the day, it's too energy consuming.

I am eating spinach right now, and feel excellent and my brain feels quite aware. The mental fog that consumes our consiousness also consumes my desires, namely i desire unhealthy food when my mental state is compromised. i.e. when i'm stressed, after sex (or before), when i feel a loss of control

It's interesting to note that i am actually me when eating paleo and not some pussy who CARES what people think.

The S.A.D. (standard american diet) makes women out of us "men". I've been wanting to take actions in my life that have felt out of reach with my lack of energy. I feel bogged down by carbs and constant digestion. To my own knowledge I am an inferior person while under the influence of carbs, sugar, rancid oils, legumes and potatoes.

Eat-
Meat and fish
Berries
Veggies
Nuts
Fruit

Don't eat-
Grains
Sugar
Potatoes
Legumes
Dairy

I want to take another picture...

A picture every 3 days, to document my progress, going on here and going on FB... I will show people my body with the shirt off, i know that will motivate me to do what i want...

Push up test in just a little while to dictate where i'll be starting with my Push ups (to build up to 125) app on the android market, while simoltaniously doing squats to 200 (bodyweight) Then pullups, then situps, then running, then swimming, then studying for the asvab.

Dang today I did great, had some tea with sugar (not supposed to) but perfection is impossible.
I was doing great, had some more tea later and a couple of banannas.

BUT there is NEW food for me...with rice and beans...

I can't say no because otherwise i'd be "rude" for not accepting the food given me.

So from now on i'm going to ask not to be purchased the food that is undesirable for me to eat (grains, legumes, dairy, sugar, and potatoes)

This is helping, i keep eliminating what's holding me back from success, if i find someone who is having trouble adjusting to... ANYTHING, i'm going to suggest they keep a journal/diary.

MUCH EASIER

I have hope and faith that i will be eating like my caveman ancestors in no time.

I have been focusing too much on diet AND exercise. I need to focus on ONLY diet for a time.

I will be doing http://www.cavemanpower.com/food/caveman_power_diet_stage_one.html

Stage one of the "CAVEMAN power diet"
-eat only raw fruit and nuts during the day
-drink a glass of water upon waking (to activate the brain)
-one meal at night as large and of whatever i want...

Once i stabilize hunger cravings (2-4 weeks) I will move to stage two where the weight loss (and the fun) begins

Today I did great, I denied myself fajitas during the day, I told my co-workers i had a huge breakfast (i didn't), when they asked what i had i said 12 eggs.

When they asked "WHY???" I explained to them the caveman diet.

I ate 16oz. of watermelon a 5 oz fruit salad, 2 apples, a lot of water. A cup of unsweetened black decaff coffee (for a natural pick me up) instead of red bull.

Then when i got home i had 2 handfulls of almonds, 3 burgers, 1 piece of fish swirled with cheese and spinach, it was on clearance and i figured i can eat whatever i want for the next 2-4 weeks, i won't be but I CAN, after that is when the cracking skulls and taking no names aspect of the diet comes in.

then i went to target to purchase some herbal tea (Tazo rest) i JUST happened to pass by the isle with cliff bars (grain based energy bar) and purchased one. I ate that and had two cans of pineapple in pineapple juice. I drank the juice out of the cans, then had a individual size box of organic rasins

WTF???

Is anyone else as confused by RyanElLion's posts as I am. Almost nothing about this is Paleo and the "plan" is all over the place. Makes no sense at all.  ???

He can't stick to it for a reason, it's making him too hungry!

Ryan, why the hell are you doing this to yourself?
Always will I take another step. If that is of no avail I will take another, and yet another. In truth, one step at a time is not too difficult…So long as there is breath in me, that long will I persist. For now I know one of the greatest principles of success; if I persist long enough I will win.

Alright i will be starting a new Progress report :( I found myself trying something different after a little while, i don't have the luxury of eating whatever i want, i eat whatever is cooked for me.

I was eating fruits and nuts throughout the day followed by a feast at night.

Alright a clean slate...

I will title it "Ryan's Neanderthin Journey"

Of all the "different" things you were "trying", none of them were Paleo and your new plan doesn't sound that much different from what you were doing. Fruits and nuts? That will only make you hungry all day. If you want advice and guidance here, I suggest you go read up more on specifically the PALEOLITHIC DIET and try to follow that. I have not read Neanderthin, but as I understand it, it is simply advocating the Paleo diet, which means it's more about WHAT you eat, rather than how much or when. Starving yourself all day then gorging yourself every night is only a set-up for failure.

Take a look through this forum to see what people eat and why.
