Success Down Under
« on: October 13, 2010, 01:55:50 PM »
Hey, I thought I would pass along a success story.  We had a good friend come to visit us here in San Diego from Cooks Beach New Zealand last July.  She was with us for 5 days.  Well, when you are staying at our house, you must eat Paleo because that is all I cook.  Anyway, she asked all the right questions on how this works and I told her all the right answers  ::)   She also stayed Paleo while she was in LA for another week while on holiday and when she got back home, she had lost 2.5 kilo.  She has made the switch to about 95% Paleo and to date she has lost gobs of weight.  She just posted a picture on FB and I imagine that she has lost at least 10 kilo more and possibly more than that.  Hey, I'll be darned this thing works.  ;D

So let me get this straight, she ate paleo for just 5 days with you, then continued to eat paleo for another week once she left your house AND while on vacation! *faints*  …all without ever reading a book, or study etc.  This is one of the best paleo stories I’ve heard…so basically she didn’t start out thinking it was going to be hard to do and just went for it, awesome!!!
How big is your house?…maybe you should open a school, sounds like you’re a good teacher  ;D

As requested, I asked her if I could post a before and after and she said, why not.  So keep an eye out here tonight I will see what I can do to get them posted.

I will not take the credit for her weight loss but I did point her down the road to success.  What got her hooked was actually losing weight while on holiday instead of gaining like she always had in the past.  Plus she was never hungry and could eat her fill every day.  By the way, her husband is forever in my debt.

My house is not large but we could rotate students in and out.  Afterall, it only takes five days  ;D

O.K. here are the pics.  The first one is after losing 2.5 kilo while on vacation in the US
The second one was taken recently, she did not say how much she has lost but you be the judge.

Pics are not there?
The answer to your question is 'eat more fat'.

Stop counting calories. If you are eating Paleo, there is usually no need.

If you are having weight loss issues, it'd be a good idea to start posting a detailed food journal, then everyone can help.

'Anecdotal Evidence' is an oxymoron.
