Time for a real change
« on: December 29, 2013, 12:50:02 PM »
Earlier this year I chose to go Paleo during lent. I was curious about it, I've been gradually eating healthier and this seemed perfect. Over that time I lost weight (which at 5'1 and 148lbs I needed) and felt so much better! However, after lent I went back to eating how I normally ate. Granted, I don't eat junk food...pretty healthy compared to most. But, lots of grains....which I love but, doesn't love me as I went back to about 145lbs.

I've decided its time to change for good. I started back to paleo 2 days ago with the exception of real cream in my morning coffee and small amounts of butter and cheese. I don't see myself giving that up completely but having small amounts occasionally.

This morning I was already down to 143.1 :) I'm excited to see where this will take me!

Over the New Year I did really well. Yesterday I did have German food which included German bratwurst on brotchen as well as a strawberry cheesecake blizzard from Dairy Queen. My stomach hurt after the ice cream :/ does anyone have a paleo option for ice cream? I'm also looking into the bullet proof coffee, does anyone have an opinion on this? I love my coffee in the morning with half and ha
F or heavy cream so I'm looking for something comparable. Thanks!!

The bullet proof guy seems like a charlatan.  But let us know, someone may have asked about it here before.

I thought bulletproof coffee was just coffee with coconut oil?  I don't drink coffee so I could be wrong.

I've found that organic strawberries at refrigerator temperature are even better than ice cream.  Some virgin coconut oil or coconut butter can be good if one wants cream with them.

My son loves the banana "ice cream" that is just frozen bananas chopped up in the food processor. Peel the bananas before freezing. the are variations on it across the web. I made a cinnamon variation that was yummy. I usually let then thaw 5 minutes before throwing them in, not trying to break my small food processor.
