Weight loss usually slows down after the first week or two on paleo. If you can sustain a loss of 1 lb per week, that's great! 20 weeks is not so long in the greater scheme of things.
Don't get discouraged Ayami. The body has to make a lot of adjustments the first few weeks on any "radically new" eating plan. As you have probably read here, many people experience flu-like symptoms, dizziness, headaches, and other problems, which are manifestations of the myriad of adjustments the body is making as it adapts to its new energy source. The longer you have been eating bad foods, the longer it will take for your body to adjust and start working efficiently. Just stick with it and give it some time. I was lucky because I switched to Paleo after being on a no-high-glycemic-carb diet for many, many years so it didn't take long for my body to start shedding weight on Paleo. But I still had the "paleo flu", the headaches, dizziness, etc. When I transitioned from my old SAD to the low carb diet many years ago though, the transition was horrible and took a long time (months). Just hang in there. You DID stop eating corn, right?
By the way, dropped in on your blog and saw something there that jumped out at me.On day 10, your lesson for the day was, "Do not skip meals".Then on day 14 you got a headache and I noticed you skipped breakfast. Your day 10 lesson was a good one, don't skip meals, especially breakfast. Every time I do that I get a roaring headache later in the day. Cheers!
another week, just another pound.
So what did I learn? I need to get my butt on the freaking treadmill to really see results.

Every Asian girl I've ever known, my wife included, lets this logic get in the way of their weight loss success. If I told you I weighed 250 lbs. and lost 5 lbs. in a week, you'd be impressed, right? Well, that's only 2% of my total weight. If you weigh 120 lbs. and lost 2 lbs. in a week, that is still only 2% of your total body weight. Same rate of weight loss. I don't know what your current weight is, and I'm not stupid enough to ask, but I'll bet 1 lb. is still a decent percentage of your total weight, and well within the range of what you should be expecting for weight loss on a weekly basis at this stage. Don't get discouraged, be realistic. Losing weight too rapidly is not healthy. Slow and steady is good, as long as its going down. When you feel better, you'll exercise more and ramp it up a little, but don't beat yourself up in the mean time. Cheers!
