I started going all in on paleo about a couple of weeks ago. Some areas have improved, but some haven't - leaving me rather disappointed. I'm wondering if my expectations are just too high and the results will come later, or if I'm doing something wrong.
I'm a type 2 diabetic, which is the main reason I've started this. After starting this, my fasting blood sugar levels dropped by about 30-40 points, which is great. The problem is that in the two weeks I've been on this, my fasting levels have plateaued. They just hang around 200 and just aren't showing any signs of going down. Also, my weight has been steadily going up. I figure that I have to solve the underlying problem (diabetes) before that improves, but should it be going UP?! I mean, seriously?
The one good thing is that my blood sugar readings throughout the day are much better. Those do seem to be getting better (albeit slightly); however, they don't seem to translate into better fasting numbers.
I've been sticking really hard to eating paleo-only food and exercising, but it's frustrating when you don't see results. I hear about others who have tremendous results (especially in the first week or two), and I don't know if that's atypical or if I'm doing something wrong or what.
