How important are berries as a part of my paleo diet? They have way too much flavor.

Not essential.

What do you mean by too much flavour though, too sweet?
The answer to your question is 'eat more fat'.

Stop counting calories. If you are eating Paleo, there is usually no need.

If you are having weight loss issues, it'd be a good idea to start posting a detailed food journal, then everyone can help.

'Anecdotal Evidence' is an oxymoron.

Not really too sweet. Puckery?

Ahh ok, leave them out for now. Try it again when you've been Paleo for a few months, I'd bet quite a lot that all of a sudden you really love the taste.

Tart, I think is the word you want. Let them ripen a bit (in the fridge). Blueberries and strawberries can get pretty sweet. Raspberries and blackberries are always pretty tart, though.

Still, they're not essential. They're just delicious :)

If you pick your own blackberries, choose the ones that are soft and slightly dull, those are the sweet ones. The hard, shiny ones are tart.
Change requires you to scream, I'M NOT GONNA TAKE ANY MORE!...and then you don't.

Dried berries tend to be less tart and more sweet, in my opinion!  Plus they are a handy snack when you are on the go.  I keep nuts and dried berries with me most of the time when away from home.
No expectations, no disappointments!
