...particularly well-done red meat, such as fried or barbecued...

And no one ruled out the "fried or barbecued" part?

Quote
Dr Panagiota Mitrou, of the World Cancer Research Fund, said: "When we looked at all the evidence on meat and cancer, it did not suggest meat increases risk of bladder cancer.

WTF? That's the opposite of the article title.

We'll need to find the original studies, journalist writeups are consistently misleading.
The answer to your question is 'eat more fat'.

Stop counting calories. If you are eating Paleo, there is usually no need.

If you are having weight loss issues, it'd be a good idea to start posting a detailed food journal, then everyone can help.

'Anecdotal Evidence' is an oxymoron.

what about colon cancer? Lack of fiber (which people on mostly meat have) is known to be the main cause

Right, 'cause everyone knows that you need fiber--25-35 grams a day--or you're risking colon cancer.  Everyone knows....

"particularly well-done red meat, such as fried or barbecued...'

If I remember correctly it was "well done" in the sense of being burnt/charred/blackened that was dangerous. Who cooks a steak like that anyway?

"Fiber"

I never understood the concept of(intentionally) eating anything that you couldn`t digest. No logic in that? Hence I`ve never bought into the "add lots of insoluble fiber" argument.

Soluble fiber(and normal amounts of insoluble) is another thing.....it just happens to be part of the bigger package called nutrient rich fruits and veggies and serves other purposes other than making you "bog" down.

IMHO
