I'm not sure about creatine, but many paleo folks take vitamin D.  I take 5000 IU about 5-6 times a week during the winter, and likely will during the summer as well if I'm wearing sunscreen.

Why are you wanting to take creatine?  Before supplementing, see if you can kill two birds with one stone and get it from diet - it'll be cheaper and better for you to do it that way.

Let me guess. You are the same guy using whey and doing 10 different variations of bicep curls, right?

Dude, you are doing it wrong. Cut the milk, cut the whey, cut the protein shakes, cut the creatine, and cut the curls.

Do:
- Eat 100% paleo
- squats, deadlifts and presses.

I actually like this response quite a bit, but don't be disturbed by his attitude :)

His main point is eat real stuff, no need to waste precious dollars at GNC or your neighborhood vitamin store other than some Vitamin D and Fish Oil on days you don't eat seafood.

But yeah, quit the isolation stuff too if you're doing it...

I've already wasted a significant amount of time trying to explain this to him. Don't waste your time.

Your compound stuff is already excessive, pointless and wasteful. Your isolation stuff is just "adding insult to injury".

Because this is a Paleo forum not a high protein/low carb diet forum. Yes we're a bit extreme because those of us who have been here for a while have seen what works and what doesn't despite what the naysayers or the fitness industry says.
Paleo isn't about fast and easy. That's what SAD is all about.

Your training is wasteful and based on ignorance. You show no comprehension as to why or ability to understand.
You are setting yourself up for more future injury.
You aren't going to show gains on Friday & Saturday of this week. Do you know why?
Do you even know how to train for speed? I'll give you one guess on the MOST IMPORTANT MOVEMENT for speed.
There are indeed many ways to skin a cat. Most are wasteful and just make a mess.

Good luck to you.

I'd encourage you to keep posting.  Most members are incredibly helpful, and attitudes only appear every so often.

We get a lot of "newbs" visiting for advice, and sometimes they aren't appreciative, hence the occasional disrespect.  Some of our older members have a TON of great experience and tips to share.

Hey man Im appreciative but theres a big difference between giving someone constructive critisim or advice and just being rude.  I made a post asking about creatine then everyone started busting on me about stuff I dind'nt even ask about.  Not in a helpful manner either.  All I did was stand up for my self thats not disrespect thats just being real.  Im sure everyone does things their own way and thats cool.  I take bits and pieces I like from others input and I customize it for my self.  If everyone did the same thing we'd be robots.  So I hope that clears the air

Is it ok to take creatine while on paleo or will it make you sick?  Also is vit D ok?

Vitamin D is fine.  Paleolithic man didn't take vitamin D supplements, but he did get plenty of sunshine outside every day.  Most of us can't spend that much time outside, so in addition to getting what sun we can, a lot of us take vitamin D to help make up for it.

There is a previous thread on creatine; you might want to search for it.  Creatine can be synthesized by the body, so you don't have to get it directly from the diet.  You do have to get the relevant amino acids.  If you eat meat, your creatine should be fine, and if anything creatine supplements may downregulate the body's own synthesis of it, which could be problematic.

Vegans might need creatine supplements along with all their other supplements due the deficiencies in their diet, but on paleo you'll be fine without it.

I don't understand advice from bodybuilders/powerlifters. I don't understand the terms (cleans, press, etc), and this is the first I've heard that isolations, namely curls, are bad.

It seems time to join a gym, walk up to a male trainer who is ripped, and tell him I want to get big and strong. According to most bodybuilders, anything relating to dumbbells is evil, and you're better off sitting on a couch eating potato chips all day. I can't wait to find out why.

I have read a lot of contradictory advice though. I'm sick of it. The only person I'll give credence too from now on is someone who looks like what I want to look like...
