Egg white protein shakes!

Ive been finding regular snacking at work really difficult, so this last week ive been cheating & introduced egg white protein powder shakes (which i can slam down while the boss isn't looking.)  ;)

The powder is flavor & additive free which is certainly preferable however not appetizing at all.

I am hoping for some suggestions to make the taste experience more appealing, obviously milk is out been mixing with water & a whole banana which is bearable..have also tried strawberries but found that combination really really disgusting.  :P

You can use water and then just add a small handful of walnuts with the fruit and powder…that would make a nut milk.  It really doesn’t take too many nuts, just depends on taste and amount you’re making. 

Yesterday I made a shake without the egg white powder…just water, broccoli, walnuts and a small piece of banana.  Probably sounds gross but it was refreshing lol!

I agree with wlfdg, you might want to make sure you're getting enough fats.

Only coffee & cakes ;D i can't whip out something significant.

Interestingly felt not so energetic but real strong at the gym tonight, last few days my mood has not been as constant???... the plus side of that significant increases in weight & or reps.

I don't know i am used to eating 6 times a day, maybe i can try cooking with even more lard...  :P
I could still be doing a few things wrong but on the menu today! (which is rather typical)

Breakfast
1 Omega 3 enriched free range egg & 1 rash of bacon cooked in i teaspoon of lard.
Bowl of vegetable & bone broth soup.
2 Strawberries.

Snack
Shake (water/banana/Egg protein)

Lunch
1 Rainbow trout cooked in 2 teaspoons of lard with herbs.
1 Orange
1 Carrot

Snack
Shake (same as above)

A handful of nuts eaten throughout the day

Straight after end of work
Kangaroo mince/mushrooms/celery cooked in lard (frozen meal)
1 Banana

After gym

1 Trevally fillet cooked in water & broccoli.
Slice of watermelon
Stamp out weakness!!!

Rollin, How much is a "rash"?
Assuming you are bodybuilding, are you eating 2.5grams of protein per kilo of lean body mass?

IMO-There really isn't a need to spread that over 6 meals like "new school" bodybuilder diets.
 I'm finding that 3 meals are suiting me fine with this diet. I'm eating as much as 100 grams of protein in a meal and feel great! I'm making awesome gains!  I really think the most important thing is eating enough alkaline foods with meat and eggs.

That's not a very big breakfast.  If you're not allowed to snack, you could try two eggs and two slices of bacon instead of one each at breakfast; that might take you through to lunch.

I have a whole steak, a 3 egg omelette and a fruit salad for breakfast.

I also roast chunks of meat so I have a quick meaty snack to chow down on if I am hungry. A nice slow roasted piece of beef tastes great even cold. That might work for your snacks actually.
The answer to your question is 'eat more fat'.

Stop counting calories. If you are eating Paleo, there is usually no need.

If you are having weight loss issues, it'd be a good idea to start posting a detailed food journal, then everyone can help.

I don't quite get the logic but i am quite serious in that only coffee & cake are tolerated during working hours... i prefer a shake as it takes some 10 seconds to drink, it's grief free.
Tried adding some almonds (not game to try broccoli) which gave the shake a nice texture, thanks Posy.

They are small meals, long term "new school" bodybuilder diets have given me such a small stomach!
Geez Wlfdg 100gms guess it can't hurt, i used to think i was splashing out with 30 plus gms though!

2.5gms per kilo is a common theme but am not that fussed, am quite loathed to weigh myself actually :D

Might add even though i can't really be bothered chasing too much these days...
Went to see a mates punk band & then went out with a much younger crowd this weekend..
Am in my early thirties but can safely say Paleo really is an elixir for youth. :o

PS What i thought was described as a rash is actually one slice of middle bacon. :-[

Do you have an idea of what you weigh?

If you're doing Heavy Duty (IMO) you really need to know how much protein you need. The hypertrophy from that program is astounding. That training intensity really taxes your CNS.

Weighed around 84kg after an overseas trip some four months back! i reckon 80 maybe! ???

Should be getting about enough i reckon, i want to know why im not significantly sore from Thursday, everything went wrong that day except training (which i hit therapeutically hard.) weird :-\

I haven't been getting very sore from my workouts at all. I keep getting stronger every week. The only thing I chalk it up to is the efficiency of the diet.

Some of the literature I have been reading lately also says that if you are getting sore than that is too much. Still having "gas in tank" at the end of a set seems to be more the current fashion. Although guys like Poliquin and Staley still boast of soreness you will feel from some of their programs. Since I'm not a bodybuilder I don't really follow their programs. I only care about being strong and fit.
