Psyllium Husks
« on: July 11, 2009, 05:34:06 PM »
Hi,

I'm new to the Paleo WOE and I absolutely love it. I am finding though eating so much meat is making me irregular. I used to take psyllium husks in the past and I just wanted to know if these are okay on the Paleo diet. If not, is there something else you guys are taking to get a lot of fiber in when you are restricting your carb intake to under 100g a day?

Welcome!

I'm not eating much fiber.

Check this post for some clues:

• Grains (wheat/rice/oats etc) . . . . . • Dairy (milk/yogurt/butter/cheese etc)
• Refined foods (salt/sugars etc ) . . • Nightshades (peppers/tomato/eggplant)
• Tubers (potato/arrowroot etc) . . . . • Legumes (soy/beans/peas)
• Modernly palatable (cashews/olives etc)

Thanks for replying Tarlach. I just read the thread and in a way I'm hoping that my... bathroom time... changes and becomes looser like people have reported. Because right now, I am having the complete OPPOSITE effect. Is that normal? Did you and other people start out constipated and then suddenly found your stool to be loose/watery? And, until my body adjusts, would it be okay to take some Psyllium?

Thanks
