Vitamin A, Omega 3 and 6 and now 9?
« on: April 08, 2012, 04:59:41 PM »
Greetings all,
Before I left there was a post, I think in this section, about Vitamin A, and the Omegas 3 and 6.  I can't seem to locate it and would like the 411 on them and now I guess some further information on Omega 9 (?!).  One more question, does it matter from what you get your Omega 6, the bottle that I got says it comes from Red Currants.  Please shed some light or if you know of the post, please send me the link.

Thanks,
Bee

The 2nd blog entry deals with the omegas and is really interesting.
Can't remember who posted it here originally, but it's very informative and quite surprising.

You don't need to supplement O6, there is enough in the paleo diet anyway.

Vitamin A?  Eat some liver

IMO the only supplements really need are vitaminD combo (vit D, magnesium, calcium) and O3.  Everything else you should be able to get from a good paleo diet  ;)

O3 is the only one you probably need more of.  O6 you should be trying to limit and O9 (olive oil) is relatively benign.  Including them in vitamins is due to marketing.  People like to think they're getting something extra, even if it's detrimental in this case.
