"The Good Pain" Journal
« on: May 06, 2008, 01:06:16 AM »
Hello fello wise eaters!!
I've always been reading everyones journal so I thought I might as well share.

I call this one 1000. Yeah, that's 3 zeros!!

Prologue- I just got back from vegas so I had some catching up to do.
I am wearing a boot to heal a prolonged ankle injury, so everything is one 1 leg. It doesn't really slow me to much so here went my day.

I'm not a fan of gym machines at all but I have to do some hours in the gym at school so I chose to build some isolated muscles then my "1000" was coming later to train the muscles the way I desire.
Warm up:
chest reps 80 lbs 3 sets of 20
Shoulder press 50 lbs 3 sets of 20
lat pulldown 80 lbs 3 sets of 20
tricep push 80 lbs 3 of 20
bicep curl 50 lbs 3 of 20
15 dips
60 ab lifts

That took 40 minutes then I was off to my real workout, the 1000.

1st meal of the day since being up at 7. It was about 12 by this time and I had 3 bites of my tuna with mustard and 1 kiwi with the skin.

The 1000
anything can be substituted with anything you want or can do.

The gear: A standard pull up bar and I brought rings the hang from a rope 3.5 ft above the ground.

10 pull ups
10 diamond push ups
10 pistols (can only do left leg)
10 ab to knees
10 ring rows with my body at an accute angle with the ground. Pull to chest.
10 regular push ups
10 pistols
10 wide push ups
10 ring rows (same position as last 1) pl to head
10 superman push ups. Hands as far in front of your head as possible.

Repeat 10 times, eat lots more tuna and a few kiwis, rest and enjoy!!

I was able to do everything 10 times in a row every round except for the pull ups.
This adds up to 100 of everything, 1000 total. :)

I'm exited how I feel tomorrow and Ill post my Wednesday workout once it comes.

I love the title. Hurts so good, right?

Your workout sounds terrific and awe inspiring. I am trying to motivate myself to really push my limits in strength training.

Eating kiwi with the skin? So I assume there is some nutritional value to eating the skin? It seems a bit yucky to me... maybe high in fiber?

I actually got the kiwi idea from a post that I found here. At first I was skeptical but I tried it and it was great!! The reason is that the nutrients are very rich around the skin and we usually cut many of them away. Just be careful because the kiwi has a big pin in the end that will poke you unless you bite it out.

Ok, I know this is an old post, but the conversation totally reminded me of this weird little graphic.
