Paleo Red's Workouts
« on: January 25, 2010, 09:02:50 PM »
I was posting my workouts on my food journal, but I want to separate them again.

Monday - Crossfit Gym

Warm-up
Kettle Bell Swings (12kg) and Pushups (knee) 1-2-3-4-5-4-3-2-1 Reps

25 Bodyweight squats, multiple foot/leg positions
10 Lunges

3 Front Squats - 22lb bar
3 Push Press - 22lb bar

WOD
Thrusters 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 (Find max rep)
Score: 32-44-47-49-51-53-55

I probably could have done a few more pounds safely, but my Squat Thrusters is a little weak. I'm still learning the lift and getting that muscle memory.

Cool down
5 ab wheel
1 monkey bar
4 24" Box jump

Warm up
Jump rope - 2 min
Light jog - 2 min

HIIT:
6 x Sprint - 30 sec (about 75%, 85% last interval)
6 x Rest - 90 sec

Cool down
Light jog - 5 min

I'm a beginner so this is my workout. It's from: http://www.intervaltraining.net/index.html

I feel pretty good after this workout. I was using this bitchin' interval stopwatch: http://www.bodytronics.com/p/seiko_stopwatches/SE52?s=fg

It was recommended by the Crossfit website.

Since it's supposed to be raining like crazy all day today and freezing drizzle tomorrow (in TEXAS...ugh) we're probably going to do a HIIT workout with jumping jacks or squats instead of sprints. We'll see.

We have plans tonight to go to a Health Fair where our Crossfit gym has set up a booth. So, we may not get home until a late.

I've done a few quick workouts in our garage between my last post and now, but last weekend was the first long duration activity I've done in a while.

Last weekend and this weekend we are in the process of getting open water scuba certified. I LOVE it so far. I was pretty exhausted each night and slept better than I have in months!! Last Saturday and Sunday we spent all of our time in the pool swimming and breathing underwater. I also had to show swimming proficiency with laps and a 10 minute tread.

Next weekend (both days) we are finishing our cert at a scuba park about 50 miles away...it's about 45 degrees right now!! BRRRRR. I can't wait!
