Update: I had knee surgery 18 days ago. I'm slowly working my way back. Yesterday I was actually able to go for two short walks with my dogs. That's right - I've got two dogs now. Man, I just can't stay away from trouble. Anyway, the first 14 days I was in a lot of pain and on crutches. Fingers crossed that it was worth it. I'm really hoping my knee will be better after this. Especially since summer's are short up here. The thought that it will soon be gone, aches me.

Apart from eating paleo, I've fallen back to some old habits of mine. I'm smoking.  :o Yes, that's a nasty habit. A chocolate bar would hurt less. Hopefully I'll soon be out of excuses anymore.  ;) I hope. But, hey, the new dog could still cause me enough stress to kill me. I've started on those chewing gums that's supposed to help you quit. I call BS.  ::)

Now I hope the doctor I'm seeing tomorrow is willing to help me with my insomnia, so I can get some shut-eye again. Take one piece away, and everything falls apart.

I wish you all good health!

I've been walking the dogs twice daily. I need to give up smoking, I'm so out of breath. I still have to keep clear of hills, due to my knee, so I'm in overall pretty bad condition.

Woohoo! I managed to walk a few hills without knee pain. Progress, and I'm very happy about it!  :)

Stopped smoking, only on nicotine gum. A lot of nicotine gum.  ::)

Somehow it's impossible for me to lose the weight I - inevitable - put on while doing ... nothing. Absolutely nothing, to be more exact. Well, except eating. To my dismay a new type of potato chips (*oh so heavenly*) caught my attention during that time. Maybe it didn't single-handedly make me pile on the weight, but it was definitely the biggest contributor. It was the new ice-cream.

"Better not think about it." "Better not think about it."  :-X

Heyyyy KP!  Long time no see!  Glad to see you back.   :)  Hope the knee is starting to feel better.

I'm coming off of a sprained ankle, myself.

I over did it today. I was hiking in the mountain with a friend, and it was really great catching up with her, as well as just to be moving around, walking, exercising. I got too excited, I guess. It hurts.  :'( But it was nice, the fresh air, the scenery. I love Norway in summer. It wasn't a long or difficult hike at all. I hope it's nothing serious. I'm horrible at taking things slow.  :-X

Wow. I'm sitting here looking out over the mountains in sunset. Wow.  :)

Anyway, I went for short hike in the mountain. I guess it was too steep, because it gave me pain in the knee. It might also be a result from last night's hike.

I can't lose this extra weight. My diet's been very high in fat, and about the same amount (in grams) in protein. Very low in carbs. I ment to aim for 1/3 each, I just seem to crave fat (good fat!). Maybe I'm just not patient enough. The scale hasn't moved in over a week, and I've been watching what I eat and walking for exercise.  :-\

I wish more people would live here. It's so beautiful and quiet. Except it gets a little lonely.

What a day!!  :) It's been an amazingly warm, sunny, beautiful day! I took the dogs on the first hike in the mountain around midday. For some reason I didn't get sunburnt (Scandinavian skin!). In the evening me and a friend went hiking. I had to talk her into bringing swim wear, but the mountain lakes were really warm and we were swimming for a long time. We even swam across the lake. My goodness that's a good workout! My arms are fatigued. So is the rest of me!  :)

I'm so tired right now. It feels great! It was like being a child again, having fun in the water. I got a mosquito bite - but one isn't bad for me.  :P

I just hope I wasn't caught speeding on the way home.  :( I just didn't see the sign. I didn't mean to.  :(

I'm just going to eat and head right to bed! I'm sooooo tired!!

I cannot believe I haven't eaten a single bad thing this Christmas, and I've been exercising! Today it was a 3 hour hike (and some exercises). Not too hard minus the blisters. I've noticed that the lack of daylight has taken it's toll on my energy levels. I used to be running and stuff and now it's mostly walking. Which is okay, roads being icy and all. Btw, I need new skis.  >:(

Ah, what a day! Me and a couple of guys were hiking up to a cabin in the forest to chop wood to store for winter. I'm guessing it took a little over an hour walking up, and a little less back down (it's only uphill and downhill around here). I had snow to my knees the second half. I'm 6 foot tall, so that's a lot of snow. We began around 9 o'clock as daylight was coming and came back around 4.30 pm as it was getting quite dark outside. It was nice to spend the entire day outside - working, and with friends. I can't do math, but I can chop wood! I have a feeling I'd be a better caveman than modern man. I suck at that.  :P Really, I do.  :(

1 hr 35 min hike in the forest. It has been snowing very heavily today. It's scary to walk on the side of the road because of the plows, especially around curves, and it limit what I can do and where I can go (also by car). Little done today.  :(

Back in the forest again today. Sooo much snow! Why do men always have to act so tough? I told a guy I was with that it would be better to use skis. But no, because "men can do anything." We spent a total 1 hr 20 min hiking through a meter of snow, using ski poles, and then chopping the rest of the wood. This evening we were out with one of the horses as well. Good exercise, no? Damn the snow.  :-\
