We had a fundraiser for the Scouts last night that was a pasta dinner, so I went off the wagon a bit.  One breakdown in a week isn't too bad though - especially given the circumstances.

Had a scrambled eggs and bacon breakfast this morning and then took the dog on an 80 minute excursion through the neighborhood.  We have a lot of rolling hills here so it's a decent workout.

I did a 30 minute workout on the Elliptical last night, but didn't get up early this morning to workout.  It's finally cooling off here, so it's not too bad to work out in my garage in the evening.  I plan to do several sets of squats this evening.

Eating continues to go fairly well.  Lunch yesterday was a creation I made of cooked spinach, peppers, onions, garlic, shredded slow-cooked chicken and sun dried tomatoes, with a little bit of sour cream added).  I smoked some salmon for dinner last night and had a couple bites (wasn't that hungry).  Brought some in for lunch today as well.  Breakfast was an orange and then I had a bagel w/cream cheese at work (someone brought these to the staff meeting - I couldn't be rude and not participate!)

Last night I did a good workout of barbell squats and reverse crunches.  Had a salad and pork chop for dinner.

This morning I had a raging debate with myself about whether I should roll out of bed and go for a walk - or would I do it when I got home from work.  Pleased to say that the more active side actually won out and I went for a nice 1 hour walk by moonlight.

Breakfast today is another pork chop plus a bananna and I packed the remaining tortilla soup (sans tortilla) with shredded chicken and a slice of cheese for lunch.

I really want to eliminate all dairy, but am having a tough time with that.

It certainly doesn't help that my wife thinks I'm some kind of fanatic and has a totally different WOE.  She buys boxes of crackers, ice cream, 8 kinds of cheese, breakfast cereals and breads galore.  Frozen pizza etc, etc etc.  She also drinks about 3 diet cokes every day and gets most of her exercise from stationary bike "spin" classes.

I've said "try this out for one week and you'll be amazed", but she won't do it.  Instead, she sticks with her Weight Watchers points plan and keeps in this +/- 5 pound range, when she wants to lose 20.

Unfortunately, all the credibility I gained when I went from 265 to 215 two and a half years ago was lost when I went off the wagon and gradually went back up to 257.

I told her yesterday that she is pre-approved to nag me on one issue:  I need to weigh myself every Saturday morning.  I think if I had been more diligent about doing that, and logging my progress and habits, then I would never have regressed so badly.  Hence the obsessive posting by me every day now...

Thursday morning I got up at 6:00 and did six sets of barbell rows.  Yesterday I scrimmaged with my sons soccer team at practice - that was a workout!

Thu. night I had a couple drinks in the evening and then all hell broke loose on eating.  I had a bag of microwave popcorn, some ice cream, a little Debbie snack cake and some BBQ brisket. :o

I felt pretty guilty about that yesterday, and so skipped breakfast.  I was incredibly busy at work, so I only had time to grab some sushi rolls for lunch.  After the soccer scrimmage, I was so wiped out and still feeling guilty that I decided to make this a fasting night first one).  So I skipped dinner and weighed in this morning at 249 - a loss of two pounds for the week.   ;D

Decent eating over the weekend.  I rode my bike for an hour on Sunday morning through the park downtown.  Yesterday I walked for an hour in the early morning and today I did six sets of deadlifts.

No workouts Wed. or Thu, but I did scrimmage with the kids soccer team last night.  I also fasted yesterday and this morning weighed in at 246 - a loss of 3 pounds for the week.

Interestingly, the fasting seems to go better with exercise.
