I'm not talking about doing hectiq situps like in a marathon, I'm going at my own pace but still getting a good ab sesh done, I probably do 30 situps, break for a couple of mins and repeat until I can't do anymore so maybe its more close to half an hour, but I want to work my way up to an hour.

I didn't realize recovering from surgery was using up energy, I have been sleeping and on pain meds wouldn't that be enough?

That's a lot of ab work?

Still need solid nutrition for tissue repair.

Well, to be honest, When I was at the gym training really hard out doing 17kg dumbell bicep curls in each hand and lifting 40kg bench press, able to do umpteen amounts of chinups which I have calisus now have had it for almost a year, did a couple of exercises which were suggested and kept with the 5x5 rule (most of the time). Can do fair few of pushups, and I'm not seeing great results, maybe its my body type or something but I am almost giving up on wieght lifting and just going to work on my core, cardio and endurance.

If you don't train and eat with a purpose you can't expect to make great gains.

"most of the time" won't get the job done.

Eating BIG + Training BIG + CONSISTENCY = RESULTS

FWIW- Unless you are a genetic freak you can expect that it will take about 3yrs. of solid training and solid eating to see solid results.

It's not a destination. It's a journey!

So you did bench press and pull ups. And bicep curls? Curls for girls?

How about squats? deadlifts? Pendlay rows? weighted dips? power cleans? push presses? How much weight did you add to these lifts?

Never did weighted dips but could do way over 50 in a single sesh (without wieghts)

Squats I used a side on machine where you are sitting and pushing it out like you are against a wall, I have never been too big on my legs, except for running. I just don't have any real motivation doing them...

I do more endurance then actual lifting heavy, I like to be able to pull myself up and be heaps flexible with handstands, rolls and general flexibility, I feel if I give up on chinups and all of that and start to lift heavy I will become sluggish and slow.

I give it another week and I think I can start light cardio and more ab work, so maybe I will strip all my christmas fat off before I start wieghts, hopefully.

I'm starting to cook again! Had some fish this morning with vegies and been having fruit and nuts for snacks, my lunch was salads and turkey today, now its time to guzzle down a few litres of water.

1st day back at gym today, I will probably leave when I wake up a little bit more, I'm sort of anxious - 2 weeks feels like 2 years. I can only do bike machine though, but still, fun fun fun.

Update:

2nd day back at the gym today, damn it felt good to be getting a sweat up again, I have been going real easy and slowly sliding back into where I left off.

Today

Light stretching

50 crunches (roughly)

20 minutes on stationary bike with (2 minute break in between) @ 100rpm

100 reps of 5kg bicep curl (will increase probably 2.5 each week) - before operation I was curling 17.5kg each hand.

30 minutes on ski machine (5 min break in between) speed unknown, but I would say moderate speed.

Light stretching

50 crunches (roughly). - until failure

- The end

Very easy training sesh, but I want to keep it up and I feel everyday I can always do that little bit more!

100?!?!?!
The answer to your question is 'eat more fat'.

Stop counting calories. If you are eating Paleo, there is usually no need.

If you are having weight loss issues, it'd be a good idea to start posting a detailed food journal, then everyone can help.

'Anecdotal Evidence' is an oxymoron.

Okay so I am back to full motion of my body in regard to weights and other, I have decided to just do chinups, dips, pullups, pushups and ab crunches - with very minimal wieght lifting. My whole training program has been 80 percent cardio and I am feeling like x100000 times better, my serotonin has just gone through the roof tantamount to being injected cocaine in my heart.

I go full speed on the treadmill at 20.00 or whatever speed that is (I'm basically sprinting as hard as I can) for about 30-40 seconds or until my heart feels like its going to explode out of my chest, I then rest for about a minute with my hands above my head breathing heavily and repeat this 3 times. I then have a 5 minute break wash my face with water get my breath back. I then do this 2 more times and rest/stretch down and yea seriously you have no idea how much better I have been feeling, I am never x countrying again - I never felt this good and I was always fatigued!!!!! Apparently the military train the same way with their sprints HIIT or whatever its called.

Hope this helps

I am starting to box the bag almost everyday now, as well as going to the gym and hopping on the tread mill full pelt until my chest hurts. I then come home and if at night I have too much energy I go for a run around my nieghbourhood, this running thing is like a drug I have to have more and more, I will keep going harder and harder everyday! Noone can stop this haha lol

And again, the running continues, although I am starting to get blisters now because I don't have proper running shoes, I chose to spend my xmas money on going out clothes, when I should of bought some new runners. Hopefully my old man hooks me up until I get paid or something. It's annoying running with slip on shoes and my toes hurt aswell. But funnily enough, even though I just came back from the gym + running I still feel like I could run a few more laps, I have a crazy amount of energy which is sort of freaking me out a bit.

Have been feeling a little bit tired of late - fatigued etc. I am going to take it slow for a few days, especially until my foot is better, I have wrapped a bandage firmly around it and in the shower I pour hot water on it for a minutes. My dad bough a new situp machine like the ab king pro or something, did like 10 last night and it was reallly hard way harder then crunches.

Well, I've been at the gym everyday for about a month now and not even close to burning out, it's like whoever said over doing the gym means you won't sustain it long was some fat lazy fool.

I have to give credit to Wldfg who has now transitioned my motivation at the gym to now thirst for that pain and suffering, this morning it was pouring heavily in my area, flash floods (terrential rain) I then went for a jog up my mountain, couldn't see in front of me because the heavy rain was splashing in my eyes, every second I had to wipe my face, coming up there were mudslides, rockslides, mini rivers, had my shins covered in mud and dirty water but I loved every minute of it then later that night I went to the gym, I keep doing my sprinting sessions everyday until I'm close to puking. I had my head over the sinks between breaks haha, it's great fun though I just keep pushing myself harder and harder everyday, I want to seriously just break and push limits which are unbreakable, know what I mean?

As you can tell, I have laid off the serious weight training I only do a little bit of curls, dips, chinups, pushups to maintain my muscle mass (if any that I have) - maybe once I have cut down fully I might bulk up later, but I don't like being fat, I rather be lean with not much muscle, than having muscle and no visible abs.

I hope its pouring down again tomorrow I am so up for round 2 with that treacherous mountain   ;D - Talking about all this is making me pumped and I'm about to sleep, haha.

You will lose more fat throught strength training than you will doing curls and the treadmill.

Wolfdogs workout plan is great... you should follow that.
