Thanks for the article link. Some concepts I had already read about (EPOC, interval training in general) but I found this part really useful:
One thing that I didn't expect was that this type of training helps aid recovery. Like "feeder" sets, Blast does a great job of flushing out the metabolic garbage from muscles by pumping tons of blood through them. GPP (general physical preparedness) is most assuredly improved by doing metabolic interval training.
I've been doing strength training only, as it is adviced to allow for enough recovery in between sessions when going through a challenging program. I will be resuming my Tabatas to aid recovery from now on.
