Let's talk fitness

Excellent article on the importance of organized strength work as opposed to random circuit/metcon training with inappropriate exercise choices.

But but but! My muscles need to be CONFUSED!
Only if you have no interest or intentions in measuring progress

I was joking, good sir. I'm not a big crossfit fan, even though I like that they seem to be getting a lot more people interested in fitness.

I was about to post in disagreement, but then realised I do track my progress if only in 3 exercises, squat, benchpress and chin up.

The rest is just a chaotic mess of me chopping stuff, pulling stuff, throwing stuff, running while holding stuff, generally just doing stuff while holding heavy stuff.

edit. I add more stuff to the heavy stuff when it gets too easy to do stuff, so I guess that is tracking in a way also.
The answer to your question is 'eat more fat'.

Stop counting calories. If you are eating Paleo, there is usually no need.

If you are having weight loss issues, it'd be a good idea to start posting a detailed food journal, then everyone can help.

'Anecdotal Evidence' is an oxymoron.

Great read Wolfie  ;)

I'd be toast if I tried to do my skill work after conditioning.

That actually sounds like fun though!
