Are you doing bench dips or parallel bar dips? Parallel Bar Dips work a whole lot more than Incline bench. P Bar Dips are "the upper body squat".

Up right rows are essentially a lateral raise with bent elbows. They abduct the humerus on a lateral plane and the retract the scapula at the top of the movement. So the work in order- Sub-scapularis, (wrist flexors) lateral deltoid heads, biceps, posterior deltoid heads, upper trapezius, levator scapula- anterior delts have a minor role. I was little confused by this choice as it is a pulling movement. Why not a overhead press?

Do you think DB laterals could impact recovery?

I do need to manage an old shoulder injury although fatiguing triceps a little with an overhead press preceding dips could be what im looking for. (am thinking out loud will go consult some text books)

I was shaky by the fourth exercise tonight, deadlifts took it out of me. :( :P

No laterals won't. Pulling always enhances pushing. Sherrington's Law of Reciprocal Inhibition. You get more "bang for the buck" from more compound exercises. So more from Upright rows than Laterals and more from High Pulls than upright rows.

Triceps are only one of the three main agonist in dips.

Deadlifts are good like that. They are responsible for 80-85% of your growth  ;)

Debilitating spread of soreness today the whole back, shoulders, traps ,triceps, biceps, abs & hamstrings.
Just my luck that work today required some good old fashioned manual labor. :D

Also i woke up last night with calf cramps & had a few calf muscle spasms throughout the day.. i wonder if this is coincidental with a impromptu soy/whey protein drink cheat before bed.  :(

Geez I'm not doing well with keeping up with this board.
I plan on updating this thread every now & then just to add a little pressure i hope peeps don't mind. (Maybe this is more suited to the WJ section)

Deadlifts 220/12
Seated cable rows 155/6
Chinups +35/5
Dumbbell Pullovers 65/9

And while probably not 100%

Squats (smith machine) 160/10
Dips +50/7
Incline Dumbbell press 70/5
Dumbbell press 40/7

Arms couldn't control the weight for IDP.
Looking forward to tomorrow my tolerance levels are getting low & i really need a good pull! :D

Trained a later this time to avoid the Monday crowd.
It was nice but im just a little too mellow now & found it hard to stay focused with only young inquisitive lads & no decent sized guys around.
Lets just say the hedging bets on how many the 'not big guy' will do during a working set, not appreciated. >:(
It's only a small gym will work out a way to explain it nicely next time.

Squats (smith machine) 180/8    midriff felt weak  :-[
Incline Dumbbell press 80/7
Dips 50/4
Dumbbell press 40/4

Dips belt now fits loosely around the waist, bodyweight maintained at 77kg. :)

Gym dynamics are funny. There are 2 bodybuilder types at my gym who are pretty interesting.

One very large guy gets annoyed if anyone else is training when he is. When he is done he leaves everything loaded, doesn't wipe down the benches and storms out of the gym. I unload his equipment and wipe down the benches he uses in front of him.  ;) ;D

The other guy ("Shorty") snickers and makes comments if you don't train the way he does,ie. all isolation exercises. He was standing sideways in the power rack yesterday doing barbell curls  ::) and dumped the bar into a mirror.  :o :-\ Too busy watching his left bicep contract.  ???

Lulz!

Guess i lean towards a slightly more considerate ;) version of the "training on own guy"... just without the nutting it these days. :-\

Um yeah the mind boggles.. perhaps he was leaning against the rack to keep his back straight  ???

Anyway S's storey cuts deep ;) ;D having a power rack availiable in these oz suburban backwaters. *me can only drool*

Honestly, I'm astonished this gym has a power rack. It's a warehouse gym in a ranching town.

Deadlifts 240/10
Seated cable rows 155/6
Chinups 35/4
Dumbbell Pullovers 70/9

I feel/felt good despite a seemingly potent bug spreading around work, immediately crawled into bed without decent sustenance though.

Had/Have trained in an old warehouse for 3-4 years it's "the" ;) ::) bodybuilding gym around here!

Nay over 30 deg C, personally if not dehydrated i have more fun! :D

I do have a birthday coming up though ever since me 21st me trying not to think about it every time! ;)

Have cut back on food intake since this program so ridding up to the market today completely unhindered by DOMS was a welcome relief.

Anyway next training is due on Tuesday which is a public holiday here... what to do, what to do. ??? :(

It seems your training schedule allows for some flexibility on days, yes? Can't you go a day sooner or later?
