Paleo beginner's exercise/crossfit advice

I've been on a paleo diet for nearly four weeks now and am feeling good. My primary goal is weight loss - have dropped from 223 pounds to 200 (want 186). I now want to get fit - but am not ready for the gym or getting back into rugby or football. I have always been convinced that running is not good for us - especially on the road - my bike is out of action and swimming is an option.

Basically, I am looking for good weight loss, fat burning exercises, that also help my heart and lungs (I smoked for many years) that I can do at home to build up my fitness and confidence before I get back into sports.

Any suggestions? I'm willing to work hard.

heavy weight lifting and sprinting up hills are both good....

circuits/calisthenics/bodyweight exercises.

Eg. - push ups, pull ups, squat thrusts, burpees (evil), box jumps etc.

Look up the Marks Daily Apple fitness stuff - lots of info on body weights exercises.  You can use various other exercises (the burpees etc) to make up a HIIT circuit

Maybe movenat also appeals
