Diet and nutrition / Re: Paleo restaurant

You'd need a loan, and based on the current economic climate and the rate of failure in the food industry, no bank is going to give out a loan for somewhere that is based on a diet. Because even though it's not a 'diet' in the media sense of the word, that's still what Mr Bank-Man will see when he looks at your proposal and so it won't go through. The only way to make this work would be to open a place that serves great paleo food without making any fuss or deal about it, and building a following. That way it's just straight good food, no gimmick.

Cheers

Just came across this, quite interesting. I haven't tried it but I imagine it's really good.

Do you supplement diet with fish oil Spax? One thing that crossfit seems to do well is community, good luck!
I've been reading about fermented cod liver oil and it's benefits. Unfortunately it's very expensive and I'm a broke student. My budget is already at breaking point and as I'm in my final year I don't have any time for a part time job to supplement my loan. So basically it's a no go until I qualify. I do take vitamin D though, but it's not really made that much of difference.

4x a week is going to be pretty hard on you recovery wise. three times is a good number.
Yeah, I've decided not to overdo it with CrossFit, I think 3x per week will be my limit. But let's get once per week under way first.

First real crossfit session today. An I am NERVOUS haha.

Good work. Try not to fall victim to their 'another rep at any cost' mentality though. Good form keeps you injury free.
Our coaches are actually really in to form, this place seems a bit more 'British' than others I've heard about. It's not loads of military meatheads pushing each other to beyond the limit. They seem to be very good at focusing on form and technique to build weight and speed onto the lifts.

Cheers guys. Blog post coming soon on my first CrossFit.

Diet and nutrition / Re: Are sausages from the butcher usually paleo?
« on: December 19, 2011, 08:55:07 AM »
In links, rusk is used to absorb fat, keeping the sausages moist inside, and to help keep the shape of the sausage. Also salt is used pretty extensively in the mix as a preserver and flavour enhancer.

You can make your own, it's not that hard once you get the hang of it. Although it's not really that fun in winter because everything has to be freezing cold.

Diet and nutrition / Cheap paleo food websites
« on: December 14, 2011, 02:59:58 PM »
So I found a great website that sells cheap virgin coconut oil and almond butter. So I thought I'd start a thread so that we can all share resources.

These guys are UK based:

Anyone got anything else?
