Diet and nutrition / Re: Why is the caveman diet making me very tired?

Hi Guys-

I'm new here and maybe I should have posted in this section.  I began a paleo diet over a year ago and had instant weight loss within the first few months.  However, I was still bloated and felt foods weren't digesting properly (ahem, get my drift #2-wise :()

So I began googling stuff and posted in the Vitamins section here:
http://cavemanforum.com/vitamins-and-supplements/started-detoxing-with-1-ingredient-approach/

I felt the bloating and not eliminated as good as I should was making me tired and weighed down (even though I lost weight).  So I tried the detox mentioned in the post above.  Now, I'm super scared to go back to including more foods because I feel lighter and haven't experienced any bloating.  Eggs seem to be a no-go for me fyi.

Love this forum!

Done with the cleanse and added eggs back into my diet.  So, my experience wasn't so great.  I became bloated within 5 minutes.  I cooked the eggs with coconut oil and spinach.  The eggs are organic, fyi.  I'm back on the detox diet again and feel no bloating.  She advises to add stuff back in and if there's a bad symptom that comes about, remove it and go back to the preselected ingredients.  Will continue with these foods for 3 more days then I'll add some quinoa and a shot of espresso to see how I do.  I'm still motivated!  Feeling A++++++++++++++ 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

I agree Eric!  Do you know of any studies out there regarding men vs. women and higher protein intake & digestion?  I've also had girlfriends tell me the same about going low carb/paleo and bloat/constipation.

Hi Eric!  Yes, I agree...drinking fluids are a big no no.  I grew up with Japanese next door neighbors and I remember them telling me not to drink before, during and after food.  I've come to the conclusion (with Paleo) that it does work, but for women, we have to pay special attention to not overdoing the protein.  My boyfriend started paleo the same time I did and had A+ results with no bloating and went to bathroom without problems.   :)

I've been Paleo for over a year now.  In the beginning I lost almost 15 pounds in 2 months, and best of all I never went hungry.  With that being said, I still struggled with bathroom time  :( and feeling bloated  :o.  I began to supplement with enzymes and hydrochloric acid to help me digest the protein better.  Helped a little bit.

I did some research around the web during the holidays and found that cleansing might be a good option for me.  I found this digestive health detox by a company called Botanic Choice.  I decided to try it because it wasn't too crazy of a price.  The hanbook that comes with a diet recommends foods that contain 1 ingredient, plus the nutritionist selected foods that she considers are the most beneficial and "low allergenic"  It also comes with a fiber/colon supplement (seems pretty standard), probiotics and grapefruit seed extract.  I never heard of grapefruit extract before so I google it.  I guess it works with helping get rid of yeast in the digestive tract.  I was taking a probiotic prior, so I wonder if the grapefruit S E had anything to do with getting rid of my bloating?  Has anyone used GSE?

I'm now on day 15 and feel really, and I mean, really good.  She advises to use these kale shots in the morning to get the system going.  Best of all I don't have to buy one of those $$$$$ blenders.  I use $40.00 Target find!

Has anyone heard of this: 21 Day Digestive Health Detox? www.21daydigestivehealthdetox.com
