My daughter and I run hills sprints as suicide runs like in basketball or soccer training minus the line touch. We live near a hill with a steep incline and parking signs nicely spaced. We do 5 or 6 sets sprinting to each sign with a jog back working are way up the hill.

Sometimes I find another resistance workout helps with the soreness. Maybe something a little less intense. You could also try going for a light run/walk. Do a minute on minute off for 20 minutes or so to get a sweat going and loosen up the muscles a bit.
