I had spent years, telling my mother about the diet we were on. When I visited her in Phoenix, she told me "Here's your waffle." I told her "I can't eat waffles. My diet. Remember?" I've been back to home once since, and she remembers absolutely nothing except that I'm on some extreme diet. Oh well.

I'm on track to win the nomination of the Silly Party. Pass the kool aid.

A good substitute for rice is to shred and steam cauliflower.

Took the picture on the right yesterday. My wife remembered an awful picture from 2004 wearing the same shirt. She commented that the most striking difference is in my face. Almost exactly two years now on Paleo.

Even Cordain said you should maintain a certain amount of cheats to make the paleo experience more enjoyable. We found ways to cut back such as gradually eliminating potatoes from our house but eating the occasional baked potato out. As for alcohol, I've been to a paleo party where everyone was drinking beer and wine. Remember that two weeks after man invented fire, alcohol came into the picture. Otherwise, enjoy, cut back in little ways and remember the big picture.

Great Mexican food, and don't miss Goode's barbeque.

That last posting should be attributed to me and not my wife.

I just looked at Meetup.com. I notice one group: The San Diego Shyness & Social Anxiety Meetup Group. But when you look to the right of the group listing it says: "Meetup details are available only to members." So they are too shy to let you know where they meet. But what if you are too shy to ask? (nothing paleo, just and observation).
You laugh, but I am exactly that kind of shy person. I've been to parties by myself where I didn't talk to a single person before I gave up and left. A group like that would be fun. I'm usually saved by my wife, who is far more gregarious .

Honestly, it was the best football game I've ever seen. Football isn't really my sport, but when you are sitting there when the buzzer sounds and aren't completely sure who won, that's a game. Now I have to avoid the mobs when the ticker tape parade comes to the neighborhood where I work.

We usually ignore the Super Bowl, but not on years when our city is in it. It was just the two of us with our son and his girl friend. Looking at the menu, we had to avoid all the usual suspects - chips, hero sandwiches, ziti. What we did have was wings, clams, raw oysters, berries and roasted nuts with cinnamon and cayenne. Nobody went away hungry and our team won!

This is beyond all comprehension. Reminds me of a time in the 1950s when the state legislature of Alabama tried to pass a law making pi equal to 3.

Thanks samjohn! I'm very open to suggested sites that I missed. About the only restriction is that the custom search software will not work with blogs. Otherwise, every good new site just strengthens the whole project.
