Diet and nutrition / Glucose for the brain
« on: November 24, 2010, 12:58:28 PM »
Okay, I need help. My kids are worried about my new "diet". They are concerned I am not getting enough glucose for my brain (lol). Also because I smoke, and have added higher fatty meat, they are concerned about my cholesterol, and blood pressure. I had my blood pressure taken recently and that has not changed. They won't accept opinion, cause I raised them right... so please provide facts. Thanks for any help guys.

Diet and nutrition / Skinny Arse
« on: September 15, 2010, 07:56:50 AM »
Weight has never really been an issue for me, I am small framed about 5'4" and always weight about 115ish. However since starting paleo I am losing weight, now I am about 109, lol. anyway here's the skinny (don't mind the pun.)
I am in week 2 of The Caveman Power Diet (I need structure) and have followed that to the letter, (I still drink coffee though, and I smoke.) except when I feast at night, I eat paleo. I don't really measure stuff, so I'll just try and say what I ate yesterday. 1 banana, about 10 strawberries, 1/4 C. blueberries, 5 raspberries, 6 blackberries, and about 1/4 C. each almonds, not roasted or salted, and pecans. For dinner I had a big salad, (mixed greens, carrots, celery, walnuts, a hard cooked egg and both olive and sesame oil) an 8oz. steak with a fried egg on top. I drink plenty of water. I walk/run 2 miles, 2-3 times a week, 5 miles on the weekend, and lift weights (girlie) 2-3 times a week. I feel great, but the people at work are worried I will just completely disappear. Thanks for your help guys.

I know it's not paleo, but it is natural, so would it be an acceptable sweetner?  :-\

Does anyone have any information on how this WOE will advantageously effect the symptoms of menopause?
