Exercises / Re: Best way to get rid of body fat
« on: February 15, 2011, 05:27:42 PM »
I do crossfit 4 times a week and eat Paleo 80% and slowly its working. Crossfit is great WOD and it works. You can scale your WOD's to fit your routines, but Crossfit wont hurt you at all enjoy it :)

I currently do crossfit 5 times a week with of course 2 rest days. Unless I'm feeling froggy.
I'm about 98-99% paleo. I just want to know how to cut body fat a bit faster. Everything seems to just be stuck in my stomach and chest area.

My body composition goal is 8-11 percent BF.

Can anyone help me out?

Cut back on paleo friendly sugars. Only eat fruit after you workout and then just avoid sugar like the plague the rest of the day. If you drink fruit juice, cut that out. Altering sugar intake is one of the best ways to tweak a paleo diet for faster weight loss from my research, and it's working for me. And ease up on the crossfit madness! Your body builds muscle while it's resting, not working out.

How do you guys figure out your Paleo percentage? It seems so odd to say "80% paleo". Does that mean that 4 meals you eat paleo and the 5th you have fettuccine alfredo?

No, you just kind of gage it by the way you eat. I say 98% because I'll have less than a cup of milk a week. And I only use the milk for my coffee...unless I'm feeling froggy and want it all black.

And thanks for the person that does CF.
I scale up most of the time now. We did sprint, power clean, burpees yesterday. And of course wanted to die in those 10 minutes of working out...haha

Exercises / How to lose body fat.
« on: January 28, 2011, 11:39:52 AM »
I'm just curious on what is the best way to lose body fat? I used to be around 15 or so last Feb before joining crossfit  in august and now I'm around 12.

I'm thinking running 2 miles every other day in the morning and crossfit in the evening?

Suggestions anyone?

Though I'm 90% paleo and exercise five times a week I'm a bit discouraged, not because of the diet but of what I see around me. I live with 3 other roommates who eat like absolute crap and yet are still lean and are "cut" though they aren't buff or anything I just hate to see that I'm actually trying to get to a certain body fat percentage and actually Having to try and they don't. Though I have seen changes and results I'm still rather peeved about what I see around me. Is it just me or do other feel this way too?

Steam a bag of broccoli w/ about 8 jalapenos after they are steamed cut the jalapenos into 4's.
Get 1 red, green, and yellow pepper cut them into little squares.
Cut half and onion however you'd like.
Throw them into a pot (makes it easier) and throw some extra virgin olive oil in there.
Throw some cumin into the pot stir and let it sit for about 15 minutes or so. And my goodness this is delicious!

Depending on what your budget is you should look around town and look at Crossfit. They teach HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) and it's like magic. If you follow the diet as you should, you should see result within a 3 months of joining the gym. I am a crossfitter in Las Vegas if you are wondering why I am saying you should check out there program.

Diet and nutrition / Constantly Hungry
« on: January 19, 2011, 08:17:15 PM »
I've run into this problem before in the past and I am always constantly hungry.

I just finished working about around 6 pacific time and I ate shortly after around 6:30.
I then went to whole foods had 2 pieces of chicken breast with garlic and herb spice, ONE dalmas, 2 eggs, boiled peppers, jalapenos, and broccoli and it come out to about a pound and a half of food and yet I sit here and it's 8:15 and I'm hungry again.

What should I do post workout to ease the hunger? Anyone having any suggestions?

This tends to happen through out the day too.

Diet and nutrition / Milk after workout
« on: January 17, 2011, 03:07:27 PM »
I currently do crossfit and most workout don't last very long and that ones that do suck (ha), but after I usually drink about a serving of chocolate milk followed by an assortment of proteins from whole foods market salad bar (I go there way to much). Though I know dairy is prohibited should I stop drinking that serving of milk after the workout? Not sure what to do here.
