Perhaps I am over-thinking men really care what women eat? From what I can see of my fellow 20-somethings, maybe not.

exactly. 20-something males don't care what you eat especially within the first few dates; they're trying to win you over.. at least their suppose to. besides, you'll probably just naturally describe your paleo lifestyle in conversation and that's adequate explanation/justification.

if you're really concerned, especially within the first two dates, just eat your bloody steak before you go out and then order a salad at dinner. ;)  i've had to do that when i dated vegetarians.. but those didn't last too long.

Progress Reports & Photos / 5 months Paleo = awesome results

I heard about paleo from a friend and was just interested mainly for the weight loss..  Pre-Paleo i was about 185 lbs and 15-18% body fat; i needed at least 4-6 cups of coffee/day just to keep "energized."

After 5 months of moderately orthodox paleo (i eat yams and clarified butter), i realize it was the best decision of my life. Now i'm at 160 lbs and 10% body fat! i only drink about 1-2 cups of coffee/day and i'm still mentally alert all day. And even with the weight loss, i've continued increase my strength gains during weight lifting!

The best part is that i've unintentionally converted a few people to Paleo; two coworkers and a friend noticed these changes, started asking me questions, and within a few weeks they all were going through ketosis   ;D

i agree with other posts about eating when you're hungry, our bodies know what it want.

but about the 'anti-snacking' issue from the OP, its suggested to keep insulin increases low throughout the day; every time you eat, insulin is released. i believe thats the reasoning..

- 3 egg yolks raw (omega3)
- 3 egg whites scrambled w/ bacon ends
- water, coffee

- 6 oz braised rump roast
- 1.5 cups of swiss chard w/ mustard greens (cooked in 3tbl ghee)

- 1/2 tbl goji berries
- 8 raspberries
- 2 tbl almond butter
- cup almond milk

- 1 cup tuna/sardine 'salad' (includes bit of mustard, avocado oil, celery)
- 3/4 cup red cabbage w/ cucumber, lime

Calories came out to 1500, which is low compared to my average of 2000. i lifted weights that day and was just slightly hungry afterwards.. curious if i'm not eating enough?

what works for me is 1 banana and a couple tablespoons of almond butter. if thats not enough, maybe wash down with 1/2 cup of coconut milk.

i ate lighter yesterday.. didn't work out that day so shouldn't be a problem..?..

- 3 eggs, boiled (O-3 eggs)
- 1 avocado

- 6 oz beef shortribs
- 3/4 cup collard greens w/ bacon

- 1 can tuna & 1  can sardines, with cucumber and avocado oil
- Cup of salad greens
- 1 oz almonds

have you tried adding some acidity? sometimes a squeeze of lime/lemon juice on fatty foods can help "brighten" up your dish and won't taste as heavy.

was at a party yesterdaty and was paleo for the most part. a lot of mexican food so i stayed away from tortillas, beans, rice.. instead i stuck with beef, pork and ceviche (fish in citrus juice). unfortunately, they had little green vegetables.  so back on track the next day..

- scrambled omega3 eggs, cooked in bacon ends
- about one slice of grass-fed beef liver, lightly seared in ghee

- spinach cooked in salt pork (had to add water since it was too salty)
- 4 pork spareribs

- salad w/ turkey breast, bacon, hardboiled eggs, avocado.

i also drink at least a liter of water throughout the day.

Introductions / Hey All... New to Paleo and the site
« on: July 15, 2011, 09:16:30 AM »
Hey everyone, have been on Paleo for about 2 weeks now. I'm still learning alot and this site is a GREAT resource! As I read tid-bits of info from this site, i'm constantly tweaking my diet and exercise.
I started Paleo cause someone explained to me that its a great way to lose weight. But after 2 weeks and educating myself about Paleo, it really is a lifestyle that i plan to maintain.

So i'm happy to be a part of forum and excited about starting the paleo lifestyle!
