Also, I now agree with Warren Dew -  you wouldn't get me near a slice of bread - used to love toast and marmite, but no more. Still love cheese, though...;)

Slipped this week - added potatoes and cheese to my diet. Had the afternoon slump again and went up to 206 pounds. Cut them out now and feel energised. Now 201.
Miss cheese and potato. :(

I love being in ketosis - can literally feel my body burning fat. High energy and feel good. Having amazing sleeps. Now need to put this energy to good use. Time to exercise...

Welcome, Leviathian.

You're doing the right things - I would cut out the dates and any dried fruit, though. Your water intake is good - i was drinking huge amounts at first but it has lessened with time...

I have one meal in the evening most days, but listen to my body - some days I snack on nuts and fruit, other days I have a light paleo lunch...

hope this helps.

Exercises / Paleo beginner's exercise/crossfit advice
« on: December 05, 2012, 12:41:10 PM »
I've been on a paleo diet for nearly four weeks now and am feeling good. My primary goal is weight loss - have dropped from 223 pounds to 200 (want 186). I now want to get fit - but am not ready for the gym or getting back into rugby or football. I have always been convinced that running is not good for us - especially on the road - my bike is out of action and swimming is an option.

Basically, I am looking for good weight loss, fat burning exercises, that also help my heart and lungs (I smoked for many years) that I can do at home to build up my fitness and confidence before I get back into sports.

Any suggestions? I'm willing to work hard.

Thanks
Sibbo

The ketosix have arrived and there are 5 shades and I'm on the 3rd shade (40++) - does that mean I'm in or do I have to be on the 5th really purple shade...?

Food Journals / Day 12 - am I eating the good stuff?
« on: November 21, 2012, 10:38:27 AM »
Hi

I have posted details elsewhere, so will be brief on my goals. Am 41; 6ft 1 and was 223 pounds. After 11 days, now 209. Initial goal is to get down to 186 and to improve energy levels.

Yesterday, I ate:

Breakfast: a pint of water
Lunch: a few berries (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries); a couple of handfuls of mixed seeds and nuts (no peanuts)
Evening feast: sirloin steak (medium rare); a large bowl of steamed veg (broccoli, cauliflower, kale, spinach, cabbage and leek)

Today:
Breakfast: a pint of water
lunch: same nuts/seeds/berries as yesterday
Evening feast: chicken legs (with skin); king prawns; same steamed veg as yesterday

Would really appreciate your feedback thoughts...

cheers

Thanks, avelin. I only eat one meal a day in the evening and typically have a few berries and a couple of handfuls of nuts throughout the day with water. Perhaps a small lunch (meat and salad) would be better...I'd certainly prefer it...?

The mixed veg is typically kale, spinach, broccolis, cauliflower, leeks and cabbage, onion. Sometimes root veg - carrots, parsnips...

Now 11 days in...

...have cut grazing down to a minimum and have felt really bloated due to drinking so much water...

Also - a somewhat delicate subject, but am not really having poos; every couple of days and not much to report...is this normal?

Energy is constant throughout the day (no more peaks and troughs I had before starting this) but feel a little 'dreamworld' sometimes throughout the day and lack a bit of concentration; but I don't mind it too much.

Now 209 (was 223) - aiming for 186...

any thoughts...?

cheers

Hi

I would appreciate your views...

I don't eat during the day (sometimes graze on nuts, seeds and berries).I have a black coffee first thing and I drink water and green tea.

I eat in the evening, tonight I had: 2 sausages, 4 rashers of bacon, 2 poached eggs and mixed vegetables. I typically eat meat and steamed veg. Sometimes fish - not a big fan, but know it is good for me.

Would be great to hear your views...

cheers
