For real.

You have to get away form the 'fat is bad' mentality. Cook with lard, and eat like a hairy assed caveman. Don't pu$$y foot around with chicken or fish. I made a pork roast last night, the fattiest bastard I've ever seen. Wrapped it in bacon. slathered in coconut oil.

If you're not comfortable eating like that, paleo may not be for you.

That makes sense.

I guess the one of the reasons I chose paleo is that it has less grey areas than my previous method of eating. I could could make  junk food at home out of own ingredients, almost from scratch. So then why was my food any better than what I get when I eat out? (Within reason of course, I don't use as much salt etc)

I want to see how I feel with a new diet. I'm ok cutting out some sauces etc, after all, it's my choice to eat the way I do and that feels empowering :) I find the paleo community to be composed of so many different types of individuals, its very refreshing.

A friend of mine recommended the paleo diet to me a few weeks ago, and I couldn't think of any reasons to say no.

Since December I've cut out 80% of the processed foods out of my diet. Today I weigh 185lbs, which is roughly 30lbs lost since then.

So since last Friday, I've gone paleo. Today evening will be one full week for me :)

My paleo terms so far, I haven't gone for organic grass fed meat (yet) or organic veggies or anything. I do plan to get there though. My going paleo was really the result of one paleo meal, and thinking I might as well just go for it.

The first weekend was tough, because I had the flu, and I wasn't eating any fat. To be honest, my understanding was that fat was a no no. So I had tons of veggies, a boatload of fruit, and some meat.

Of course I was hungry, but after reading more into what I should be eating, I've introduced fat into my diet (I do use bacon, but will switch to pork belly) and pork sausages from the butcher shop.

I feel great most of the time. I do go through moments of 'cloudy' though. It's odd, like everything is cloudy around me, but it goes away. What I do enjoy, is sometimes I just get this feeling like the marrow of my bones is light as a feather, and I feel GREAT! So I'm hoping there's more of that to come

A few things I've noticed about myself. My skin is oilier. In a good way, it just seems more nourished. I can tell you almost instantly, my breath has vastly improved. I used to have a case of 'dragon breath' and for some reason now, my mouth feels perfectly clean.

I fart less, that is huge. I used to be the champion of clearing a room. Now, the twice a day I do need to blast one, I can't even smell it. I used to get a bit of acid reflux, regurgitation, etc, all of that is now gone.

I'd like to do some more research into the types of fats that exist (last week I didn't even know what a carb was) but I know to stay away from veggie oil.

Eating out will be a challenge. I went out to Kelsey's the other night, and thought ok, so a half rack of ribs with wings, some steamed veggies, and off I go. Wrong! I realized the wings are fried in god knows what. Skip them. I had ribs with no sauce, but I could tell there was still something on them by taste, and by the immense gas I had later (still smelled like roses though)

My golas for paleo are to live a healthy lifestyle. For myself, my wife, my kids. I'd like burn off all of my fat. I don't care about my weight per se, I like being big and heavy so i can push people out of my way. I just don't want fat on me.

So anyhow, that's me for now. Sorry about the frequent fart mentions, but what a difference!

I was recently introduced to the paleo diet by a buddy of mine, and it just seemed to make so much sense.

I'm just about to hit my first week milestone, and I don't think I could have done it without the vast amounts of knowledge available online.
