My immediate thought is that whey protein and other powders are highly nonpaleo.  Presumably you can't live off the land, though.  What are the emergency rations for, if you know how long you'll be out?

No I def cant live off the land, unfortunately I dont have time o the ability to make jerky at this point. Idealy I would make Pemmican for future expeditions. The emergency rations are because any veteran remote backpacker knows to bring excess emergency food. You can never fully predict the outcome of a remote expedition.

Plasma, my main thought is that chicken is quite lean, and switching to fattier meats would probably your best bet.  If you have been on high protein low fat, your liver has been working overtime turning the extra protein into blood glucose, so you may not be in ketosis, and the tiredness you are feeling may be the normal "low carb flu" from the period of adjustment to ketosis.

So if I generally just ate Animal Fats and Vegetables with a little added protein when I was hungry and strictly just that would it be safe to say Im pretty good to go diet wise ?

If I could jump in ...

I do expeditions every year in remote places for weeks at a time. This year ill be in western Newfoundland for 2 weeks. Remote.

My plan so far is Whey Protein, Beyond Tangy Tangerine (powder nutrient supplement) and Tallow. I will be bringing Oats and Rice as emergency rations.

Any thoughts / suggestions ?

Juice the kale. I work at a farm and the majority of people who buy kale juice it. Juicing is great because it cuts calorie load ad allows for better nutrient absorption for your body.

Alright so Ive been on and off being semi Paleo for a while. I decided to delve fully into it. I have noticed in the past that if I eat too much protein like chicken or almomd butter when Im hungry I dont feel as well. I think my food balance had been a bit off. Im thinking realistically my best route is to have fats and vegtables as my meals.

The two days prior to yesterday I basically just ate coconut oil, chicken and almond butter. Now all of yesterday and into this morning I have felt sluggish and I havnt had an appetite. Im thinking that my liver is just oberloaded and Im basically fasting at this point. On the contrary I feel a lot better not having really eaten and not eating when Im not hungry. Im also assuming my body probably has a pretty good fat store after the half jar of coconut oil I ate two day ago. I did have a salad and oil and cinegar for lunch yesterday, small and light and felt pretty damn good for a bit, thoughthem tired because digestion was sluggish. I know oil isnt paleo.

Im thinking to just cut down my food intake in general, and basically stick to salads and dressings on coconut oil and vinegar, with a little added protein for most of my meals. Thoughts ?
