Introductions / Carter from Utah
« on: June 26, 2019, 11:11:43 AM »
Hi Everybody,

I'm Carter. I'm starting paleo to go along with my recent push into exercise. Tired of trying to buy shirts that don't showcase the love-handles so much and I realized no shirt can show it if you don't have it to show haha. Anyway, I'll likely have questions from time to time, but the only for now is anybody from Utah or the midwest?

I think you should just aim for versatility in home stuff. And you'd be amazed with what you can do with just a yoga ball, some dumbbells, and bands. If you want bigger things then you just need to look around, test run if you can, and bargain shop.

I just started a home gym not long ago with the stuff I just mentioned. From there I added a rack for weight lifting, with weights I got off FB Market Place, I got a treadmill from a coupon site, and I got a punching bag (for the wife mostly, she loves kickboxing). I think those are all good home gym purchases (though I know the weight rack isn't for everybody, you lose your garage space because of it haha)

Here's the list if you want it:

Oh and a basketball hoop never hurt anybody ;)

Hi ya'll,

Most forum threads I've seen are pretty dormant so I don't know how much response this will get, but here's to hoping!

I've been exercising over the last month to try and get back in shape. I'm 6'1" 235 lbs. I'm down from 240 already, but I know to hit the 190 goal I set for myself it'll take diet too. Since some friends have had a lot of success with Paleo I wanted to convert! My initial questions are:

I'm in an okay place energy wise from the way I've been eating. Enough to fuel my workouts/basketball and get through the work day anyway. With switching my diet, should I expect a fluctuation in energy in the beginning when starting Paleo till I adjust?

Does eating free-range eggs really matter as much as some blogs I've read suggest?

I've got enough family members with osteoporosis that I have gone calcium heavy in my diet through dairy. With that restriction though, should I worry about being calcium deficient?

Thanks in advance on any feedback!

I think goblet is easier on the back personally, but it might just depend on your body/the weight your doing for either.
