Hi there and welcome! :) It's always great to know new people who have decided on going Paleo. How long has it been since you started?

On my first week I lost a whopping 6lbs and was feeling pretty good about it, but on the second week it was just about 3lbs. I was told it was normal to lose weight pretty quickly in the first few weeks because you're only losing water weight, but it's better to not just focus on food intake but also in keeping the body active.

Hi Jennifer, welcome aboard!

Can you tell us a little about yourself?  Perhaps how you came to learn about cutting grains and the potential benefits of adopting Paleo ways of life.

I learned about this 10-15 years ago and decided to start a forum since there wasn't anywhere to talk with like-minded people!

To be quite honest I had no idea what Paleo was all about until a neighbor inadvertently introduced me to it. We had a potluck dinner at our home and noticed that she wasn't having any of the pasta even if the other guests were raving about it. At first I thought she just didn't like pasta, but I eventually discovered throughout the course of that meal that she was avoiding grains because she's a Paleo eater. I didn't jump onto the bandwagon yet after that, but I had conversations with her about it because I'd been curious (and she looked fit, so I was naturally a bit jealous) and she was gracious enough to tell me. After a while, I started researching stuff on my own and thought to try it.

It didn't pan out well for me the first few tries because I kept getting tempted by my family's stash. It was terrible! But I've since learned to manage (thanks to my neighbor and TONS of online resources), even though at this point my family's already gotten used to Paleo meals. They're not completely Paleo eaters yet, but they're getting there! :)

I'd suggest starting a food journal, and posting your issues, including time issues, daily.

I agree with this. It might be a little time consuming, but I hope you could squeeze it in your busy schedule because it could help you see some patterns in your food intake, physical activity and hours of sleep. You might be missing something, I don't know what it is, but something (or some things) might be off in your daily routine that's causing the weight gain.

And I have nothing more to say that's not already been said, but on that note, please don't give up!

Yogurt is still a form of dairy, and therefore not Paleo. Almost all dairy (save for butter, in some cases) is not on the Paleo food list.
